August/September

Zoe and I are working on a "living creatures around our house" photo series, eventually to be made into a homemade book for dad.

Clowning around!

As something to do one day, I sent the girls outside with lists of thing to collect.  Neva's consisted of two rocks and two pieces of grass.

Then I had them find things outside in different colors.

This is what happens when you leave the three-year-old with an ink pad!
And the six-year-old with the camera.
Peaceful dollhouse time.
Zoe made her name in grass (and leaf).

Happy Summer!

DIY pizza pie

This was a fun way to do dinner with the kids the other night.  We used Trader Joe's pizza sauce and ready-to-bake crusts and put out a bunch of topping options.

Unrelated:

I think I'm going to sign up for a month of Bikram Yoga classes.  I have done Bikram before and loved the intensity of it.  It's quite challenging and you sweat a ton.  I also recently ordered a couple of Tracy Anderson DVD's, but it's so hard to exercise at home with the kids.  Right now I feel like I need the structure of a class to keep me motivated and because it's distraction-free.

I'm considering e-meals, a weekly menu planner service, with recipes and shopping lists.  It is the kind of thing I would normally be not at all interested in, but I have been reading Dave Ramsey's financial advice lately and he recommends it, and it is true that we eat out a lot simply because we don't have our home cooking situation very organized.  So maybe it's worth giving it a try.  If we don't like it, we're just out a few bucks really.

Update 9/6/2014: Bah!  Did not do either of those things and lost interest in both.  I just don't have time for Bikram yoga right now, I am with the kids almost around the clock. And e-meals was not as cheap to try as I initially thought.  You have to buy 3 months up front or something like that.  And I just don't want to do it anymore.  And stopped reading Dave Ramsey, although I liked some of his stuff.
